COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado — In the 2025-26 Preseason Men's Wrestling Coaches' Poll, the Adams State Grizzlies were selected to finish in second place behind Colorado Mesa University. The Grizzlies received 28 points, which included 3 first-place votes and 2 third-place votes. The Grizzlies' 3 first-place votes were tied with Colorado Mesa to lead the conference. Along with being selected to finish second in the conference, the Grizzlies had 3 Preseason All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference selections, which included Isaiah Gamez, Angel Flores, and Aaden Valdez.
With 3 Preseason All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference selections, along with the prediction to finish second in the conference this year, the Grizzlies Men's Wrestling team will look to continue its excellence in the 2025-26 season on its quest to win the RMAC, along with yet another trip to the national tournament. With the leadership of Aaden Valdez, who was an All-American in the 2024-25 season after finishing third at nationals, along with the return of their other 3 national qualifiers, the Grizzlies will have a strong team that will look to carry them to not only an appearance again at the national tournament but a national title winner in the 2025-26 season.
Looking at the rest of the conference in the Preseason Poll, Colorado School of Mines was selected to finish third with 26 points. Colorado School of Mines collected 1 first-place vote, 1 second-place vote, and 3 third-place votes. Rounding out the top five for the conference was Western Colorado in fourth with 22 points, and Chadron State with 21 points in fifth place.
As far as the final two spots in the conference, Colorado State University, Pueblo, was selected to finish in sixth place with 10 points, and New Mexico Highlands was selected to finish in seventh place with 7 points to round out the conference.
Looking forward to the start of the Men's Wrestling season, the Grizzlies will open up their season, Sunday, November 9th, in the Colorado Mines Rookie Open. The event will be hosted by Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado, and will be a one-day event. With the start of their season coming up fast, the Grizzlies will look forward to the Colorado Mines Rookie Open, where they will seek to start their year off strong on their quest to yet another strong Men's Wrestling season.
