Box Score Chadron, Neb. – The Adams State Grizzlies closed out their 2024-25 season on Saturday night, falling to Chadron State 105-86 in a high-scoring RMAC matchup at the Chicoine Events Center.
The Grizzlies (12-17, 7-14 RMAC) battled throughout the first half and went into the break trailing by just one, 43-42. However, Chadron State caught fire in the second half, outscoring Adams State 63-43 to pull away and secure the win.
Despite the loss, Adams State had several strong performances to close out the season. Guard Jude Tapia capped off his 24-25 campaign with an impressive 28-point performance, shooting 10-of-20 from the field and hitting seven three-pointers.
Luke Williams added 24 points, eight rebounds, and three assists, while Wyatt Helming recorded a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Senior, Cameron Kimble rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points and three assists. The Grizzlies knocked down 12 three-pointers as a team but struggled to contain Chadron State's offensive attack.
Chadron State's offensive efficiency proved to be the difference, as the Eagles shot 51.2% (42-of-82) from the field and dished out 30 assists as a team. Five players scored in double figures. Their transition game also proved to be a factor, as they outscored the Grizzlies 29-22 in fast-break points.
With the loss, Adams State wraps up its 2024-25 season with a 12-17 overall record and a 7-14 mark in RMAC play. The Grizzlies will now turn their attention to the offseason, looking to build on this year's experience and return stronger next season.
