Alamosa, Colo. – Adams State University is proud to announce the 2025 Hall of Fame class, honoring a distinguished group of 14 student-athletes and coaches whose accomplishments have left an enduring impact on Grizzly athletics. This year's inductees span multiple sports and generations, celebrating excellence across the field, mat, track and court.
Baseball and Football
Larry Olin
A standout in both football and baseball, Larry Olin showcased remarkable versatility and leadership during his career in the mid-1970s. On the football field, he captained the 1975 Adams State team and was named All-RMAC as a defensive back, also earning NAIA honorable mention All-America honors that same season. On the diamond, Olin was named to the 1975 All-RMAC team and earned 1976 first team all-star honors as a catcher. His rare two-sport success made him one of the most dynamic athletes of his era at Adams State.
Men's Basketball
Louis Wilson
When Louis Wilson took over the Adams State men's basketball program, the team was coming off a 4-23 season. In just one year, Wilson orchestrated one of the greatest turnarounds in program history, leading the Grizzlies to a 20-9 record in 2010–11 and a berth in the NCAA Division II playoffs—their first in nearly a decade. The Grizzlies followed that up with 19 wins and another NCAA appearance in 2011–12. During his nine-season tenure, Wilson guided the program to 140 wins and three consecutive NCAA regional appearances, setting a new standard for success in Grizzly basketball.
Football
Chad Hovasse
A record-breaking wide receiver, Chad Hovasse left an indelible mark on Adams State football. The 2018 NCAA statistical champion in receiving yards per game, Hovasse was a nightmare for opposing defenses and the definition of a complete student-athlete. He was named second team All-America by both the Associated Press and the AFCA, and was a 2017 Harlon Hill Trophy candidate—awarded to the top player in Division II football. In addition to breaking Adams State's all-time records in receptions and receiving yards, Hovasse also earned 2017 RMAC Academic Offensive Player of the Year honors and was recognized by the NSCA as a strength and conditioning All-American.
Ron Harms
A true pioneer in college football, Ron Harms brought innovation and consistency to Adams State. Known nationally as one of the early architects of the veer offense, Harms led the Grizzlies to a 21-14-2 record over his tenure. He never posted a losing season and earned widespread respect for his ability to develop talent and implement cutting-edge strategies. His impact on the game extended far beyond Alamosa, and in 2012, he was inducted into the National Football Foundation Hall of Fame—a testament to his influential coaching career.
Track and Field / Cross Country
Kevin Batt
A standout in the distance events, Kevin Batt is a five-time NCAA Division II national champion and 12-time All-American who competed for Adams State from 2012 to 2015. Batt captured national titles in the 3,000 meters, distance medley relay and 5,000 meters, showcasing his range and dominance across events. His consistency at the highest level helped solidify Adams State's reputation as a national powerhouse in track and field during his time in Alamosa.
Boris Berian
One of the most electrifying middle-distance runners in Adams State history, Boris Berian captured national titles in the 800 meters both indoors and outdoors in 2012. After a dominant season, Berian turned professional and quickly made a name for himself on the international stage. In 2016, he earned a spot on Team USA by placing second at the U.S. Olympic Trials in the 800 and went on to compete in the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, finishing eighth in the final.
Andrew Graham
A four-time NCAA Division II track and field champion and key member of the 2008 cross country national championship team, Andrew Graham made his mark at Adams State as a fierce competitor and standout middle-distance runner. From 2009 to 2013, he posted a personal best of 3:40.00 in the 1,500 meters and helped lead the Grizzlies to continued success on the national stage.
In 2014, Graham faced a life-altering spinal injury that changed the course of his athletic journey—but not his passion for movement or helping others. He went on to found Gym Possible, a charity created to empower individuals with physical disabilities to stay active and strong.
Leanna Jackson
Leanna Jackson made her mark in the high jump, capturing a national title and becoming a two-time NCAA All-American. Jackson was a fixture on the national stage and helped elevate the Grizzlies' women's track and field program with her success.
Brian Medigovich
One of the most decorated distance runners in Adams State history, Brian Medigovich earned All-America honors 13 times. He captured the 2010 NCAA indoor national championship in the 5,000 meters and was a key contributor to three national championship teams.
Cassie Mitchell (Medigovich)
A 2011 NCAA national champion in the steeplechase, Cassie Mitchell earned nine All-America honors throughout her career and became one of the most versatile and dependable runners in Adams State's storied distance legacy.

1993–94 Men's Cross Country Teams
Building on the momentum of a perfect-score national title in 1992, the 1993 and 1994 Adams State men's cross country teams continued a golden era of dominance—completing a three-peat at the NCAA Division II National Championships.
In 1993, the Grizzlies nearly matched perfection, capturing the team title with just 25 points. That year also saw Shane Healy win the individual national championship, crossing the finish line in 28:04.00. In 1994, Adams State secured its third consecutive national title, scoring 55 points and proving once again they were the gold standard in collegiate distance running.
Across those two seasons, the program produced 14 All-Americans—a testament to the team's depth, talent and championship culture.
