Lindquist Returns to Adams State to Oversee Compliance and Internal Affairs

Alamosa, Colo. – Billy Lindquist joins Adams State as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance/Internal Affairs in Spring 2026.

Lindquist brings a wealth of experience in athletic administration and program oversight. He most recently served as Offensive Coordinator and Interim Head Coach at Northern Michigan University from 2023–2026, where he was responsible not only for coaching but also for ensuring compliance with NCAA rules and overseeing recruiting processes.

Before Northern Michigan, Lindquist spent eight seasons at the University of North Carolina Pembroke, including multiple years as Recruiting Coordinator, where he managed compliance-related recruiting protocols, coordinated student-athlete eligibility monitoring, and ensured adherence to institutional and conference regulations.

Lindquist also served four years on staff at Michigan Tech University, beginning as a Graduate Assistant and later as Special Teams Coordinator, where he gained experience in administrative operations and program management.

"We're thrilled to welcome Billy back to the Grizzly family," said Athletic Director Katelyn Smith. "His extensive experience and deep understanding of athletics will be invaluable as we continue to grow and strengthen our department."

A three-time Academic All-RMAC honoree at Adams State, Lindquist was a two-year starting quarterback who threw for 2,005 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2006–07. He earned a bachelor's degree in Physical Education in 2008 and a bachelor's in Sports Administration in 2009, further grounding him in both athletic and administrative expertise.

Lindquist and his wife, Jamie, have one son, Mack.
