Grizzlies Picked to Finish Eleventh in RMAC Preseason Poll

Colorado Springs, Colo. – The preseason coaches poll for Men's Soccer was released Tuesday afternoon, announced by the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Adams State Men's Soccer team was predicted to finish 11th in the conference heading into the 2025 season after a difficult 2024 season, in which they went 2-12-2.

Looking at the rest of the conference, the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs Men's Soccer team was ranked first and chosen to win the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular-season title, earning 93 of a possible 100 points. UCCS received five of the 11 first-place votes, along with 3 second-place votes and 2 third-place votes. Last year's champions, Colorado State University Pueblo, was picked fourth in this year's poll under their new Head Coach. CSU Pueblo received 2 first-place votes, 1 second-place vote, and 2 third-place votes, giving them a total of 79 points.

Although the Grizzlies were ranked eleventh in this year's poll, they are looking to have a strong growth year with their new Head Coach, Peter Freeman. Coach Freeman brings extensive experience from coaching at Trinidad State for the past nine years. He aims to make a significant impact on the Grizzly culture, leading to success in the future.

The Grizzlies plan to start this season fresh and aim to make some noise in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference by consistently playing good, clean soccer that leads to continued success throughout the season. Along with their new coach, Adams State will have a very new roster this year, with 24 newcomers, including 17 transfers and 7 freshmen. With these additions, the sky is truly the limit for the Grizzlies this year.

Looking ahead to the start of the season, the Grizzlies will open on September 6th here at home against Lubbock Christian University. After the home opener, they will go on a short road trip to Texas before returning home for six consecutive home matches, starting with their first conference game on October 3rd against MSU Denver. With the long stretch of home games to begin the season, it will be a great opportunity for fans to support the Grizzly Men's Soccer team as they embark on a new winning journey this season.
