Meet the War Hawks
In Wednesday's matchup, the Grizzlies face off against the McMurry University War Hawks. The War Hawks visit Alamosa boasting a 0-1 record after losing to Texas A&M University-Commerce, 82-80 in overtime. In the Grizzlies previous game against the Texas Woman's College Pioneers, the Grizzlies had difficulty in the first half being able to find an offensive rhythm. In the first half of that game, the Grizzlies shot nine percent from the field, tallying eight total points. In comparison, the War Hawks scored 42 points in their first half of play in their previous game and shot 32 percent from the field.

McMurry has trio of offensive players that present a true dominant force that can dictate the flow of the game. A sort of "pick you poison" moniker can be dubbed for this squad. Adijatu Disu led the team in scoring against Texas A&M University-Commerce with16 points. She also posted two steals, two assists, and one block. Taylor Neal scored 15 points for McMurry, while Haley Welch posted 14 points in the affair. This trio equated to nearly more than half of McMurry's points. The Grizzlies will need to find a defensive answer to quite this proficient offense.  McMurry University is under the direction of interim head coach William Milton. A graduate of McMurry in 2007, he was selected as the assistant head coach last year before taking over head coaching duties this year.

Meet the Buffs
Based out of Canyon, Texas and under the direction of head coach Mark Kellogg,  the West Texas A&M University Buffs are currently ranked as the number one team in the nation according to the USA Today/WBCA Coaches' Poll for the first time in school history and No. 2 in the Preseason Women's Division II Bulletin poll. With that being said, they are currently looking for their first victory of the season as they square off against New Mexico Highlands on Tuesday night. The Buffs lost 77-73 at home to UT-Permian Basin last week and as it stands of now; hold a 0-1 record on the season. The Buffs all-time record against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference participants is an outstanding 41-9. In the upset loss against UT- Permian Basin, WTAMU was led by a four-deep offensive attack. Chontiquah White led the Buffs in scoring with 20 points.  Sasha Watson scored 16 points, while Jordan Vessels and Danielle Logan both scored 12 and 13 points, respectively. Once again the Grizzly defense will need to find an answer to silence this strong offensive group of the Buffs.

Once again tomorrow's game is at 5:00 p.m. in Plachy Hall and will be against the McMurry University War Hawks. Saturday's game vs West Texas A&M University is also scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. start
