Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (January 16, 2016)—The Adams State University Grizzlies women's basketball team lost on the road
Saturday in their Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) match-up against Colorado Mesa University by an 82-49 score.
The Grizzlies (2-12, 1-10 RMAC) were unable to find a defensive answer for CMU junior guard Bryanna Adams. Adams was responsible for 23 points in
Saturday's affair off of 7-16 shooting from the field, 6-14 from beyond the three point line. Adams scored 20 of 23 points in the first half of regulation. The Maverick bench chipped in 42 points in the contest, more than half of the entire points scored throughout the game. Combined with a solid defensive game plan that limited the Grizzlies to just 18 points in the second half, CMU was in complete control of this conference game.
Offensively, the Grizzlies were paced by
Lena Jaycox 14 points off of 4-15 shooting from the field, 3-10 from beyond the arc.
Cydney McHenry had a solid offensive showing as well, chipping in 13 points against the Mavericks. For the entirety of the game Adams converted 31 percent (14-45) of their shots compared to CMU's 46.9 percent (30-64). The Mavericks led by as many 33 points in
Saturday's game.
With
Saturday's results, Adams has now lost seven consecutive games and will return Alamosa to prepare for a four-game home stretch at Plachy Hall. The Grizzlies will host New Mexico Highlands in their next game on
January 22 and the game is scheduled for a
