(January 21, 2016)—The Adams State University Grizzlies will return to Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) action this weekend after a four-game stretch away from the confines of Plachy Hall. Both games are slated for 5:30 tip-offs and live stats will be made available for fans by following the links provided above.

Last Time Out
The Grizzlies (2-12, 1-10 RMAC) are returning to Alamosa after two disappointing losses on the road against two of the RMAC's best defensive teams. The Grizzlies lost to the Westminster College Griffons by a 76-54 score and lost to Colorado Mesa University 82-49. Lena Jaycox continues to be in fantastic form for the Grizzlies and was Adams' leading scorer in both games. Against the Griffons she posted 13 points and netted 14 against the Mavericks. For the junior guard, it marked her eighth consecutive game where she has personally logged double-digit margins on the scoreboard for the Grizzlies.

About the Cowgirls (2-13, 0-11 RMAC)
The New Mexico Highlands University Cowgirs are currently on a 13 game-consecutive losing streak and their last win occurred on November 14th against Oklahoma Panhandle State University in the Heartland and Rocky Mountain Tournament.  It's been a difficult season for the Cowgirls and Head Coach Brianna Finch and will look to snag their first RMAC victory against the Green & White.  NMHU is currently in the 8th place in the Mountain Division of the RMAC. A large part of their lack of success is due to their lack of offense production paired with one of the conference's worst defense.
The Cowgirls possesses the RMAC's 13th ranked offense that produces an average of 57 points per game along with the 15th ranked defense that allows an average of 71 points per game. NMHU does however one of the league's most electric offense playmakers in Michelle Traynham. The junior guard currently the RMAC's fourth best offensive playmaker with an average of 15.6 points scored per game. The game against NMHU marks the Grizzlies second game in a row were their defense will be tasked with stopping some of the league's most dynamic scorers.

About the Mustangs (6-10, 4-7 RMAC)
The Western New Mexico University Mustangs are currently 5th in the Mountain Division of the RMAC and are currently riding a three game losing streak. In their last eight games, the Mustangs have been losers of seven and like the Cowgirls, will look for game against the Grizzlies to redirect their season.  Western New Mexico possesses the league's 15thranked offense that produces 55.6 points per game. Their defense however is just outside the RMAC's top ten and has the league's 11th ranked defense that limits the opponent's offense to an average of 63 points per game. One the season, the Grizzlies offense averages 56.6 points per game.
Desiree Smith is the team's leading scorer with an average of 10.5 points scored per game.
