ALAMOSA, Colo. (March 6^th, 2017) – The Adams State University men's lacrosse team is set to host their home opener against Rockhurst on Thursday, March 9^th at 12:00pm.
 
Recently For Adams State Men's Lacrosse:
The Grizzlies are fresh off of a 12-9 victory over CSU-Pueblo last Saturday, a game that was tied for a majority of the game. Connor Johnson was clutch in the win with 20 saves. Johnson's feat tied a single-game career best. Emmitt MacFarlane led the team with 3 goals, 1 assist, and 4 groundballs. The win was the first Adams State game under the direction of new head coach Keith Lindgren. The team is now 1-0 (1-0 RMAC) for the season. 
 
About Rockhurst:
Rockhurst University is located in Kansas City and is an RMAC member for lacrosse only. The Hawks are currently 5-1 having just lost their first game last Saturday. On that day, the team dropped a 14-13 contest to Westminster in Salt Lake City. Prior to the loss, Rockhurst had been 5-0 including one conference win. The team is led by the Vanoverbeke brothers, Grant and Luke. Both men have 11 goals on the year as of February 27^th.    
 
Last Meeting: These teams last met on March 15^th, 2016 with the Grizzlies winning 9-4. It was their first win over the Hawks since 2014 and was also the home opener for last season. Connor Johnson faced 22 shots on goal, and made 18 saves on the day. Out of the Grizzlies' 31 total shots, 18 were on goal. The Grizzlies also went 21-of-25 on clears, edging out the Hawks who went 19-of-24.
