ALAMOSA, Colo. (April 11, 2017) – Adams State University enters the home stretch of their 2017 season. The Grizzlies begin a four-game home stretch against the University of Colorado Colorado Springs on April 15
th at 12pm.

Last Time Out
Adams State traveled to Fort Lewis College and Colorado State University-Pueblo this past weekend. The Grizzlies were defeated 15-2 by Fort Lewis and later suffered a 15-3 setback against CSU-Pueblo. Prior to their weekend slate, the Grizzlies notched a 21-7 home win against Johnson & Wales (Colo.) on April 6th.
The win was the first of the season and marked the first win for Head Coach
Angelica Gero with Adams State. ASU's 21-point output marked a single-game program record as did their 14-point margin of victory. In the win, nine different student-athletes scored for ASU led by
Hannah King's six goals. King added six ground balls and three draw controls.
Angela Gallegos,
Jessica Hammer, and Cera Cyster each netted three goals in the win.
Jessica Hammer added a game-high four assists, eight ground balls, and nine draw controls.
Alyse Mims picked up her first win in net with four saves while facing 12 total shots. The Grizzlies pillaged the Wildcats defensively, forcing 16 turnovers and collecting 34 ground balls. The team also won the battle for draw controls 17-11, and shots 31-12.
About The Mountain Lions
In their inaugural season, UCCS enters the match with a 4-7 overall record and a 0-6 mark in RMAC play. After beginning the season 3-1, the Mountain Lions have lost five of their last six games. The Mountain Lions were last in action at home against CSU-Pueblo on April 8
th with UCCS falling, 18-5. The program's last win came against Saint Mary on March 31
st by a score of 13-5. Vanessa Nelson leads the team with 30 goals as Brianna Martinez has 21 goals and 10 assists. Ellie O'Brien is the team leader in ground balls with 38. Elle Scott-Williams has started all 11 games in net for UCCS. She owns 72 saves on the season with a goals against average of 12.55 and a save percentage of .343. The program is under the direction of first year head coach Christine Hatton.

The Grizzlies remain home next weekend for games against Regis University (4/19) and CSU-Pueblo (4/22). Their game against CSU-Pueblo will serve as Senior Day for the program.
