ALAMOSA - Adams State University men's lacrosse team will finish out the five game home stand the opened the 2018 season with this Thursday and Sunday against Maryville and Johson and Wales. Thursday's game will begin at 3 p.m., while Sunday's game will begin at noon.
The Grizzlies (1-2, 0-2 RMAC) have been strong on the defensive end in the past two weekends, holding Otterbein University to the lowest goal total in the past few years. They also held Rockhurst to 12 goals. The defense is led by
Tanner Beck and
Ryan Hamilton, each of which have four caused turnovers. Beck is also tied for third on the team with nine ground balls along with
Coltyn Kelly and
Morgan Osborne.
In cage,
Connor Johnson is averaging 15 saves per game, on par with his performances last year that had him named RMAC Goalie of the Year. His save percentage is .577. He is also second in the team with 10 ground balls and has only given up a pair of turnovers this season.
Offensively,
Kale Wilson leads the way with six goals this season and an assist. He also has the best shot percentage on the team, having converted on three-quarters of his shots taken. He is joined by
Alex Brydson with five goals this season on 13 shots.
Emmitt MacFarlane,
Collin Cranfield, Osborne and
Alex Hoduffer all have added a pair of goals to the team's season total.
Maryville (3-7) has left the RMAC but continued to face the teams. The Saints have recently fell to then No.8-ranked Colorado Mesa, Westminster College and CSU-Pueblo in the past three games in a row. The Saints will end the long trip around the RMAC here in Alamosa after being on the road for the past week. They are led by Tristan Snellgrove and Parker Lee, who have 16 and 11 goals this season, respectfully.
