ALAMOSA – Adams State University men's lacrosse team will compete at home for the final two times for the 2018 season this weekend, kicking off tomorrow against Westminster College at 3 p.m. and finishing out Sunday on Senior Day against No.15-ranked Colorado Mesa at noon.
Adams beat Westminster last year for the first time at home, looking to continue that streak. The team has never beat Colorado Mesa.
The Grizzlies had a week off after taking on a tough trip through Missouri. Despite being swept, the team performed well against ranked Lindenwood to garnish the team's first-ever national rankings vote. The Grizzlies are still looking for their first conference win of the season, tied with Westminster in conference record and overall record at 3-5.
Kale Wilson and
Alex Brydson lead the team with 13 and 10 goals this season, respectfully. They have been the benefactors of
Emmitt MacFarlane and Jacob Austin, who have six and five assists.
Defensively,
Garrett Chitwood leads the team with 10 caused turnovers, while
Terry Trudgian has seven.
Connor Johnson and Dominic Mendez have split goalie duties lately, each with a save percentage above .580.
