Grizzlies Return to Alamosa for Four-Game Homestand

ALAMOSA, Colo. - After playing each of the last three games on the road, Adams State Women's Basketball is back in Alamosa for the next four games as RMAC play rolls on into the New Year.

Tip-Off
• Adams State enters the weekend looking to end an eight-game losing streak as the team is 1-10 overall and 1-6 against conference opponents. After starting the calendar year on the road, Adams State will look to use the home court to it advantage for the next two weekends.
• The Grizzlies got the New Year Started with two RMAC games at Chadron State and MSU Denver, respectively. The Grizzlies fell 67-57 to the Eagles back on Jan. 4 before falling to the Roadrunners, 60-36, in Denver on Jan. 5.
• Following this weekend's games, Adams State will remain at home for two more games in January as the team will play host to RMAC foes Colorado Mesa and Western Colorado next weekend. The games will be played on Friday, Jan. 18 against Colorado Mesa and Saturday, Jan. 19 against Western Colorado.

Adams State Breakdown
• The Grizzlies come into this weekend's match-ups with an average of 55.9 points scored per game. They average a 37.3 shooting percentage from the floor overall and are 24.6% shooting team from three-point range.
• On the defensive end, Adams State is giving up 65.9 points to the opposition on 40.8% shooting for the field overall. From beyond the arc, opponents are averaging 29.9%.
• From the free throw line, the Grizzlies are still one of the top teams in the RMAC. They are shooting 72.8% from the charity strip on 123-169 made shots and their average is fourth highest in the conference.
Stephanie Ruiz continues to the offensive weapon for Adams State as the leading scorer. She averages 14.0 points per game and has scored 154 total in 11 games played. Her average is 10th best in the conference.
• Ruiz is also one of the RMAC'S top overall percentage shooters at 40.7%. Her average is 11th in the conference as she averages 5.5 made field goals per contest.
• Still leading the way in rebounds in senior Ki'asha Harris who averages 5.9 per game for Adams State, which is 19th best in the RMAC. Harris is also the conference's top free throw shooter at 88.9% and ranks 20th in Division II. In 11 games played she has hit 32-36 free throw attempts this season.
• Guards Brooke Neal and Marshell Hollins are second and third, respectively, in rebounding for Adams State. Neal pulls down an average of 4.7 boards per contest, while Hollins is even at 4.0.
• Hollins is the offensive facilitator for the Grizzlies through 11 games as she averages 2.5 assists per contest. She has 28 total for the season entering this weekend and her average is 15th in the RMAC. 
• Hollins also leads the team in steals with an average of 1.5 per game and has totaled 17 steals overall. Her average is also 15th in the conference. Neal is second in steals with 13 total and averages 1.2 per game.
• Both Maddie Dorris and Lowendie Laporal continue to be the rim protectors for the Grizzlies as both have seven blocks in 11 games played. The front court duo is averaging 0.6 swats per contest and their average is tied for 19th in the RMAC.

Scouting Colorado School of Mines
• The Orediggers come into this weekend with an even .500 record of 6-6 overall and are 3-4 in RMAC play. They are winners in three of their last four games but have yet to win a road game this season in three attempts.
• Despite an 0-3 record in true road games, Colorado Mines boasts one the RMAC's best offenses and defenses. They average 65.0 points per game and shoot an average of 37.2% from the floor. Mines' scoring average is eight best in the RMAC. They are fifth in the RMAC in three-point field goal percentage at 34.8%.
• Defensively, the Orediggers are eighth in the conference in scoring. They give up just 61.7 points per game to the opposition on 37.9% shooting. They struggle in free throw shooting at just 66.8% which is third worst (14th) in the RMAC.
• One things Mines' excels in is rebounding. They have the best average in the RMAC at 42.8 per game and rank 37th in Division II. The out-rebound their opposition by an average of 7.2 boards per game.
• Three Orediggers are averaging double figure points so far this season. Denali Pinto is the overall leader at 12.0 points per game in 10 games played. Nicole Archambeau is second at 11.7 points per game, while Raven Herrera is third at 10.9 points per game.
• Archambeau averages a near double-double as she is also the team leader in rebounds with an average of 8.5 boards per contest. Her average is the second best mark in the RMAC.
• Anna Kollmorgen leads the way in assists averaging 3.3 per game and has dished out 39 total in 12 games played. She is 11th in the conference in assist average and ranks 12th with an assist-turnover ratio of 1.0
• Herrera and Kollmorgen both lead the Orediggers in steals as the pair each has 22 total this season and average 1.8 entering the weekend. Their average is tied for fifth in the RMAC.
• Pinto is the rim protector for Mines with 11 total on the season and averages 1.1 per contest. She is tied for fifth in the conference with her block average.
• As a team, the Orediggers are sixth in the RMAC in blocked shots per game at 3.58 and seventh in assists at 13.17 per game.

Scouting UCCS
• The Mountain Loions are just 5-8 overall this season but boast a 4-3 record against RMAC opponents entering this weekend. They are just 1-3 as well in true road games during the 2018-19 campaign.
• UCCS is coming off a 1-1 home stint last weekend with a win against Dixie State, 59-54, before dropping a 75-60 contest to Westminster College. UCCS will take on Fort Lewis before traveling to Alamosa to take on Adams State.
• The Mountain Lions average 58.1 points per game and shoot 38.8% from the floor as a whole. From three-point range, they average 31.4% as a unit which is eighth in the RMAC.
• Defensively, UCCS gives up 64.9 points per game to its opponents on a 37.8 shooting percentage. From beyond the arc, the opposition averages 34% against UCCS.
• Like the Orediggers, the Mountain Lions rebound the ball well averaging 38.3 boards per game which ranks sixth in the RMAC. The allow their opponents to grab 34.9 rebounds per game and have a margin of 3.4 in the Mountain Lions favor.
• Not one player averages double figures for UCCS but as a whole the team has seven players averaging a minimum of five-plus points per game. Jae Ferrin and Abby Feickert lead the way averaging 8.5 and 8,2 points per contest, respectively.
• Ferrin also leads the team in rebounding with an average of 5.5 per game and has 71 total rebounds. Feickhert is second with an average of 4.2 boards per contest.
• Kelly O'Flannigan has the most assists for the Mountain Lions with 30 total. She averages 2.3 per game which ranks 20th in the RMAC.
• Caley Bernard is the leader in steals for UCCS with 16 total and averages 1.2 per contest.
• Anna Davern is the top shot blocker for the Mountain Lions with an average of 0.8 per game. She has 11 total in 13 games played. Her average is tied for 13th in the RMAC.
