Grizzlies Head North for Weekend Road Trip against UCCS, Metro

Denver, Colo. Springs, CO - The Adams State women's soccer hits the road this weekend for week four of conference play. Grizzlies kick off the weekend in the Mile High City, visiting MSU Denver for a Friday night matchup, then take on the No. 1 ranked UC Colorado Springs Sunday at 12 p.m.

ASU Women's Soccer

The Grizzlies met with Colorado Christian and No.16 Colorado School of Mines on home turf last weekend, splitting week three of conference play to put them at 3-5 overall, and 1-4 RMAC. CCU left Alamosa with another loss under their belt, falling to Adams State for the first time in four years. The game was dominated by both teams defensively, only one goal scored in the first half granted Adams State the sought-after win last Friday. School of Mines came in the Sunday after.

Around the same time of CCU's falling, Colo. School of Mines played a competitive matchup against Fort Lewis that ended in a double overtime, tie for the teams. The Orediggers stepped onto Grizzlies turf in search of that sought-after road win they never received in Durango. Adams State was dominated offensively but held the Orediggers to a tight matchup, allowing a single goal per half. Adams State's Corri Zaiger still stands among the top 5 in the RMAC for saves per game, and shutouts per game.

Scouting the Roadrunners

MSU Denver look for their first win in three games after taking Western and Dixie State to double overtime for two ties, then falling to Westminister last Sunday. Roadrunner offense is led by senior midfielder Hailey Mazolla, standing in the top ten for both shots and shots on goal in the RMAC. Jordan Lewis, Paloma Terran, and Jessica Mooney are also notable players to look after. MSU Denver stands at No.7 in the RMAC with an overall record of 3-6-2 and 2-2-2 RMAC.

Scouting the Mountain Lions

UC Colorado Springs had a similar schedule to MSU Denver last week, edging out Westminister and Dixie state at home to keep their record in perfect condition. The now 10-0 (6-0 RMAC) Mountain Lions await Fort Lewis and Adams State at home to kick off week four of conference play. UC Colo. Springs is all over the board statistically, on a national and conference level. Individually, the Mountain Lions stand behind Redshirt Junior, Shanade Hopcroft, who also leads the RMAC in goals, shots, and points. Behind her are Kaitlin Hinkle and Tanner Sanders who both hold prominent spots in individual statistics within the RMAC.

The Adams State Women's soccer team will have a competitive week four on the road and look to meet Utah foes next week at home.
