Williams named to the All-RMAC Second Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fatso Williams of the Adams State women's soccer team was named to the All-RMAC Second Team, as announced by the conference office Tuesday. Four other Grizzlies earned All-RMAC honorable mention honors.

Williams played in 18 games for the Grizzlies, starting 15. She led the team with nine goals on the season while logging just 875 minutes of action. A newcomer to the program this year, Williams transferred from the University of New Mexico, where she battled injuries throughout her career. She also recorded three assists and 15 shots on goal.

Williams ranked No. 5 in the RMAC in goals this season and was a key contributor in helping the Grizzlies qualify for their first-ever conference tournament and earn the program's first postseason win.

Four Grizzlies earned All-RMAC honorable mention honors: Grace Abbott, Colette Tena, Annabell Haugen and Ashlyn De Lemos.

Abbott, a senior for the Grizzlies, scored six goals and recorded four assists while appearing in all 20 games and making 18 starts.

Tena, a two-time All-RMAC honorable mention selection, earned her spot on the list after providing three assists while starting all 18 games she played this season.

Haugen started all 20 games for the Grizzlies and anchored the defensive line. A consistent presence in the backfield, she added two assists and recorded four shots on goal.

De Lemos was the lone freshman Grizzly to receive postseason honors. She appeared in all 20 games, scoring four goals and adding two assists in her debut season.

This year's All-RMAC honors highlight a breakthrough season for Adams State women's soccer, as the Grizzlies set a program record for wins and secured their first-ever RMAC Tournament appearance and postseason victory.
