Adams State Set for Final Homestand of Regular Season

ALAMOSA, Colo. - Adams State Women's Basketball returns from a four game road tour back to Plachy Hall this weekend. The Grizzlies will be back in Alamosa to take on Regis University and Colorado Christian University.

Tip-Off
• The Grizzlies come into the weekend with a 2-17 overall record and 2-13 in the RMAC. They enter this weekend's contests after going 1-3 on their road trip.
• Adams State is 2-8 at home this year. Against RMAC opponents, Adams State is 1-7 at home.
• Following the two contests at home, the Grizzlies will continue their homestand for the next 2 games. They take on Dixie State and Westminister College next weekend.

Adams State Breakdown
• Adams State is averaging 54.6 points per game on 37.3% shooting from the floor. From three-point range they average a 27.6 shooting percentage per contest.
• Defensively, the Grizzlies are allowing opponents to score 65.2 points per contest. Opponents shoot an average of 42.8% overall against the Grizzlies and 32.4% from beyond the arc.
• Adams State still ranks in the top-three in the RMAC as a team in free throw percentage. As a unit, they shoot 74.5% and have made 202 shots from the line on 271 attempts.
• The Grizzlies average ranks second overall in the RMAC is in the top-50 in NCAA Division II this season.
• With an average of 11.3 points per game on 36% shooting, Stephanie Ruiz is the leading scorer for Adams State. Brooke Neal is second with 9 points per game
• Ki'asha Harris continues to bring down the most rebounds for the Grizzlies. She averages 5.9 boards per contest. Harris is also still the top free throw percentage shooter at 89.1%.
• Brooke Neal is second behind Harris in both rebounds and free throw percentage. She averages 4.0 rebounds per games and is shooting 78.6% from the free throw line.
• Marshell Hollins and Neal lead the way for the offense in assists per game. Hollins is atop the list averaging 2.0 per game, with Neal right behind her at 1.5 per game.
• Hollins and Neal are also the team leaders in steals. Hollins is averaging 1.2 while Neal averages 1.1 per game.  Hollins leads the way with 23 steals on the year.
• Lowendie Laporal now stand alone as the team leader in blocks with 10 total in 19 games played. She averages 0.5 per game.

Scouting Regis University
• The Rangers come into the weekend at 10-10. The team ranks 11th in the RMAC with a conference record of 6-9.
• Regis has gone 1-3 in their last four games, only beating Adams State with a score of 68-44.
• The Rangers are ninth in the RMAC averaging 63.1 points per game. They shoot 45.5% from the field and average 31.0% from deep. Regis is shooting an even 70% from the free throw line.
• On the defensive end, Regis gives up 60 points per game to the opposition on 41% shooting. Opponents shoot 34.6% against the Rangers from three-point range.
• Two players are averaging double figures through 20 games played. Majiste Robison leads the way averaging 11.3 points per game. Whitney Jacob follows behind with 10.4 points per game.
• Robinson's PPG average is good for 17th in the RMAC.
• Jaz'Myne Snipes is the team's top weapon from three-point range with a 37.6% average. Her average is fourth best in the conference, while her 2.1 made threes per game is ninth.
• Sheby Espinosa leads the way in rebounding averaging 10.4 per game, which is good for the top ranking in the RMAC.
• Robinson averages the most assists per game for Regis with 2.7 per game.
• Alex Nelson is the top shot blocker for the Rangers. Nelson has 15 blocks on the year.  

Scouting Colorado Christian
• The Cougars are 9-12 overall entering the weekend. They are one game under .500 in the RMAC with a 7-8 record. They have gone 1-4 in their last 4 games, losing to Adams State in that stretch 67-48 at Colorado Christian.
• Offensively, Colorado Christian averages 63.7 points per game and shoots 41.6% from the floor. They average 31% shooting percentage from beyond the arc.
• Defensively, CCU allows 66.8 points per game. Opponents shoot 39.6% overall against the Cougars and  30.5% from deep.
• Three players average double figure points with Jordan Baer putting up 17.8, Sarah McGinley scoring 14.1, and Olivia Christy adding 10.5 per game.
• Baer leads the way as the top rebounder averaging 6.9 per game and has 145 total.
• Marie Tsoungui has the highest assist average at 2.9 per game.
• Tsoungui leads CCU in steals with 28 on the year.
• Baer also leads the Cougars in blocked shots with 22 total and averages 1.1 per game.

Up Next
• The Grizzlies remain home next weekend playing two more games at home before hitting the road again. Their first home game is against Dixie State on Friday, Feb. 15. Tip-off set for a 5:30 p.m. start.
• The following night the Grizzlies take on Westminister College. Tip-off for that game is also set for 5:30 p.m inside Plachy Hall.
