ALAMOSA, Colo. –The Grizzlies are home this weekend for the first time this season as they take on the Dixie State Trailblazers. It will be a four game series with one game Friday, a double header on Saturday and a single game on Sunday.

• Adams State (3-11) is at home for the first time this season for a four game set against Dixie State.
• The Grizzlies got their first three wins of the season two weekends ago at UT Permian Basin as they were able to sweep the Falcons.
• The Grizzlies will be on the road again next weekend as they travel up to Lakewood, Colorado to take on Colorado Christian.

Adams State Baseball History
• Grizzlies Baseball begins its seventh season as an NCAA sport. The program was re-instituted prior to the 2013 season after a 35 year hiatus.
• Prior to the 2013, Adams State last sponsored baseball in 1976 season when the program was still a member of the NAIA.
• Adams State enjoyed quite a bit of success winning back-to-back RMAC championships in 1973 and 1974.
• The Grizzlies posted the best overall record in the conference in each of the last four years (1973-76) while sponsoring the sport before it was discontinued.
The Capra File
• Head Coach
James Capra has led the Grizzlies Baseball in each of the last six seasons. Coach Capra is a graduate of Adams State (Class of 1980).
• Coach Capra was a member of the 1976 team before it was cut. He also played football for three seasons at Adams State and was a three-year starter at wide receiver.
Last Time Out
• The Grizzlies took all three games at UT Permian Basin on the back of great pitching and clutch hitting.
• Adams State secured its first shutout win in the series opener, 2-0. In game two of the day one doubleheader, the bats came to life as Adams State won, 8-5.
• The Grizzlies secured the series sweep the following day with a back-and-forth affair that saw them hold off the Falcons late for a 5-3 win.
• All three games Adams State won were by three or less runs. The team will look to continue the good pitching and solid defense this weekend.
Batter Up!
• Offense has not been a problem for the Grizzlies this season so far as they have three hitters sitting above .300

Nico Nintze continues to be the leader of the offense this season witha 3.62 batting average and nine RBI. Both totals lead the team as well.

Logan Bistrup is anchoring the middle of the lineup as he has been able to create the power for the Grizzlies. He has two hoe runs and a .638 slugging percentage, both of which that lead the team.
On The Mound

Kolton Bleggi has the best ERA on the team with a 2.08 ERA in 8.2 innings pitched and has been a solid reliever for the Grizzlies.

Troy Gutbub has been the best starter for the Grizzlies, throwing 21.0 innings and striking out 24 batters.
Road Warriors
• The Grizzlies are one the road for their first 14 games on the road before playing a single game on their home turf. This weekend will be the first time the Grizzlies are playing at home.
• Adams State will play a total of 30 games on the road this season and 20 games at home.
Scouting Dixie State
• The Trailblazers come into this weekend with a 10-4 record and are coming off losing two games to Colorado Mesa University last weekend
• Jake Engel is leading Dixie State on offense, hitting .380 with five homeruns and 12 RBI, he is leading the team in both homeruns and RBI.
• Cade Spurlin is top of the team in batting average hitting .407
• The trailblazers have five pitchers with an ERA under 3.00
• Brayden Bonner has a 0.00 ERA in 7.2 innings pitched which is best on the team.
