SPEARFISH, S.D..— The Adams State Grizzlies played against Black Hills State on the road. The Grizzlies fought hard against the number one ranked team in the RMAC but fell 80-61.
In the first half the Grizzlies played physically but ultimately ended the half down 15. The Grizzlies shot 32.3% from the field, had 17 rebounds, and seven turnovers and the Yellow Jackets were 53.6 from the field, had 18 rebounds, and five turnovers.
The second half the Grizzlies stayed persistent battling with the Yellow Jackets. The Grizzlies just couldn't find a rhythm to stay with them. The Yellow jackets out rebound the Grizzlies 21 to 10. Two Grizzlies scored in high double figures,
Rylan O'Brien and
Kaelin Crane. O'Brien led with 20 points and went 100 percent from the free throw line. Crane finished with 19 points and 5 rebounds. For the Yellow jackets Joel Scott had a great night having a double double 21 points and 13 rebounds. The Grizzlies went perfect from the free throw line in the second half going 14-14. The Yellow Jackets stayed consistent on their three's throughout the second half going 35.7%. The final score was 80-61.
The Grizzlies will have a quick turn around and play Chardon State Saturday, February 5th at 7:30 p.m.
