GAME 1: Adams State 9, CSU Pueblo 5
After trailing 4-0 entering the bottom of the second inning, the Grizzlies finally broke through as
Paul Giglio grounded home
Mike Bathauer for the win.
Despite giving up a home run in the top of the third inning, Adams State rallied and scored eight unanswered runs. In the third inning, the Grizzlies scored five.
Matt Bathauer pushed the first two across on a single before
Ayden Tauscher singled through the left side. Dere reached in an error before Nathan Marthaler singled to center.
The Grizzlies scored the final three runs in the bottom of the fifth.
In the game the Grizzlies had ten hits including two doubles with Tauscher going 3-for-4 at the plate with two tuns.
Cesar Loma earned the win after throwing four inning and surrendering the five runs on seven hits.
Ty Addington earned the three-inning save as he surrendered just one hit over those three.
GAME 2: Adams State 3, CSU Pueblo 2
Stellar defense stumped both squads to open the second game as the Grizzlies were only able to muster one hit through the first three innings, however, it was enough as the Grizzlies scored one run for a 1-0 lead .
CSU Pueblo then scored in the top of the sixth inning. Then the bats went cold. Neither team was able to get a batter past second base until the ThunderWolves scored a run in the top of the 13th inning.
The Grizzlies did not back down however as the first three batters came up and loaded the bases before an error at first base allowed the winning runs to come around and score.
Up Next
The Grizzlies will host CSU Pueblo for the series finale on Sunday at noon. They will then play their final home games of the season next weekend when they host UCCS with a four-game series.
