GOLDEN, Colo.— The Adams State men's and women's swimming squads competed in a dual meet against Colorado School of Mines this Saturday evening, ending with a combined score of 333-208 in favor of Colorado School of Mines.
The men's team achieved seven gold, six silver, and five bronze medals, accumulating a combined score of 169. On the women's side, they secured four gold, four silver, and four bronze medals, resulting in a combined score of 84.
WOMEN
In the women's 400 Medley Relay, ASU secured fourth place, clocking in at 4:21.52.
In the second event of the day, the ASU men's A team claimed fourth in the men's 400-meter relay with a time of 3:46.54, trailed by the ASU men's B team in fifth with a time of 3:51.95.
Kennedy Larson claimed third position in the women's 1,000 freestyle, completing the race in 12: 22.69.
In the women's 50 backstroke event,
Peyton Schwartz clinched fifth place, touching the wall in 30.22 seconds, followed by
Jocelyn Jones in sixth position with a time of 30.30 seconds.
Hannah Zimmer secured seventh place with a time of 31.37 seconds, while
Kaycey Stephen finished eighth in 35.86 seconds.
Anjali Friedman secured fourth position in the women's 50 breaststroke, clocking in at 32.09 seconds, while Larson finished sixth with a time of 39.82 seconds.
In the women's 100 freestyle event,
Lena Brown claimed fourth position with a time of 57.68 seconds, followed by
Kiera Gutierrez in fifth place, finishing with a time of 1:02.64. Sammy Buttermore secured sixth place, clocking in at 1:11.07, while
Kaycey Stephen came in seventh with a time of 1:13.62.
In the women's 50 freestyle,
Lena Brown secured third place with a time of 26.27, followed by
Jocelyn Jones in fourth place with a time of 26.44.
Kiera Gutierrez finished sixth with a time of 28.46, while
Kaycey Stephen touched the wall in seventh place with a time of 28.72.
In the women's 100 butterfly,
Anjali Friedman placed sixth with a time of 1 minute and 4.20 seconds.
In the women's 200 freestyle,
Jocelyn Jones achieved third place with a time of 2:8.79, followed by
Peyton Schwartz in fourth place with a time of 2:11.81. Sammy Buttermore secured fifth place with a time of 2: 36.66.
In the women's 50 butterfly,
Hannah Zimmer took first place with a time of 30.03 seconds, followed by
Kennedy Larson in second place with a time of 38.64 seconds.
In the women's 100 backstroke,
Peyton Schwartz took the lead, while
Kaycey Stephen secured second place with times of 1:05.63 and 1:21.15, respectively.
In the women's 100 IM,
Anjali Friedman finished first, with
Hannah Zimmer coming in second, and
Kennedy Larson securing third place. Their times were 1: 4.42, 1: 10.79, and 1: 20.59, respectively.
In the women's 200 freestyle relay, Adams State University A secured first place with a time of 1:45.44 seconds, while Adams State University B finished second with a time of 1:52.28 seconds.

In the men's 50 backstroke,
Cody Natali clinched third place with a swift time of 26.11 seconds, while Connor Mathews followed closely behind in fourth position, finishing with a time of 28.50 seconds.
Alec Hattler secured fifth place with a time of 31.33 seconds, and Cole Haight rounded out the top six with a time of 31.84 seconds.
Chayton Budzik claimed fifth place in the men's 50 breaststroke, completing the race in 29.17 seconds, followed by Sebastian Belvins in sixth position with a time of 29.39 seconds.
David O'Brien secured seventh place with a time of 29.99 seconds, while
Alec Hattler finished eighth with a time of 36.45 seconds.
In the men's 100 freestyle,
George Lutkenhaus secured fifth place with a time of 50.09, followed by
Payton Bowman in sixth place with a time of 52.01,
Ricky Santiago in seventh place with 53.60, Josh Jones in eighth place with 54.40, Cole Haight in ninth place with 56.98,
Talon Beagle in tenth place with 58.13,

Ricky Santiago finished seventh with a time of 23.93, followed by Josh Jones in eighth place with a time of 25.24.
Talon Beagle secured ninth place with a time of 26.27,
Alec Hattler finished tenth with a time of 26.41, and
Calvin Ssendawula touched the wall in eleventh place with a time of 27.59.
In the men's 100 butterfly,
Derek Cooley finished eighth with a time of 57.74, while
Alec Hattler secured ninth place with a time of 1:3.41.
In the men's 200 freestyle,
Brayden Stalcup finished fourth with a time of 1:52.35, followed by
Bryce Scott in fifth place with a time of 1: 53.20.
George Lutkenhaus secured sixth place with a time of 1: 54.67, while Cole Haight touched the wall in seventh place with a time of 2: 5.10.
In the men's 200 IM,
Sebastian Blevins claimed first place with a time of 2 minutes and 12.71 seconds, while
Bryce Scott secured second place with a time of 2 minutes and 19.69 seconds.
In the men's 50 butterfly,
Payton Bowman secured first place with a time of 25.98 seconds, followed by
Derek Cooley in second place with a time of 26.27 seconds.
George Lutkenhaus finished third with a time of 26.48 seconds, while
Bryce Scott came in fourth with a time of 26.88 seconds.

Brayden Stalcup tied for fifth place with identical times of 27.72 seconds.

In the men's 100 backstroke,
Cody Natali finished first, followed by
Derek Cooley in second place, and
Talon Beagle in third place. Their times were 55.91 seconds, 1:2.45 seconds, and 1:6.38 seconds, respectively.
In the men's 100 breaststroke,
Sebastian Blevins secured the top spot timed at 1:05.47, with
Chayton Budzik following in second place with a time of 1:07.53 , and
David O'Brien in third clocked at 1:07.79.
In the men's 100 IM,
Brayden Stalcup claimed first place with a time of 57.94 seconds, followed closely by
Cody Natali in second place with a time of 58.81 seconds.
Chayton Budzik secured third place with a time of 1:1.17 seconds, while
Derek Cooley finished fourth with a time of 1:1.38 seconds.
Ricky Santiago and
Talon Beagle took fifth and sixth places, respectively, with times of 1:4.87 seconds, and 1:5.20 seconds.
In the men's 200 freestyle relay, Adams State University A took the top spot with a time of 1:32.36 seconds. Adams State University B followed in second place with a time of 1:37.32 seconds, while Adams State University C finished third with a time of 1:38.65 seconds.
