DENTON, Texas – The Adams State University Grizzly women's wrestling team showcased their prowess on Sunday, securing three placers at the NCWWC Region VI Tournament held at Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas.
With the top four finishers in each weight category earning a ticket to the NCWWC National Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in two weeks, Austria Holland emerged as the sole qualifier from the team, clinching third place in the 116-pound division.
In a thrilling showdown, Holland clinched victory in the third place match with a 4-2 decision over Jaia Ashley of Schreiner University.
Among the other standout performers for the Grizzlies were Canice Brickell, who claimed sixth place in the 109-pound category, and Trinity Perez, who secured eighth place in the 130-pound division.
