Saint Charles, Mo. – The Adams State Grizzlies women's wrestling team closed its season Saturday at the NCAA Region VI Championships, earning four individual placements, highlighted by a fourth-place finish at 117 pounds.

Flavia Nagatani led the way for the Grizzlies, advancing to the third-place match with a dominant consolation run. Nagatani secured a technical fall and a fall to move into the consolation final with a berth to nationals on the line. She ultimately dropped the third-place bout by technical fall to finish fourth overall.

At 124 pounds, Julia Donnelly put together a strong second day. Donnelly opened with an 11-7 decision to stay alive in the bracket before falling by pin in her next match, sending her to the fifth-place bout. She responded with a narrow 7-6 decision victory to secure fifth place.

Mia Siqueiros also claimed fifth place at 103 pounds. Siqueiros began day two with a fall in 4 minutes, 12 seconds before dropping her next match by technical fall. She closed the tournament with a commanding 14-3 technical fall victory in the fifth-place match.

At 160 pounds, Angella Van Valkenburg earned sixth place. Van Valkenburg opened her second day with a 4-1 decision before falling in her next two matches by decision and pin to conclude her tournament.

The regional championship also marked the final collegiate competition for Bella Devoto, the lone senior for the Grizzlies. Devoto competed at 131 pounds and closed out her career at the regional meet.

With four wrestlers finishing in the top six of their respective weight classes, Adams State wrapped up its 2025 campaign with multiple podium performances against the region's top competition.
