Saint Charles, Mo. – The Adams State Grizzlies still have five wrestlers competing on day two of the NCAA Region VI Championships, hosted by Lindenwood University.

At 103 pounds, Mia Siqueiros won round one by technical fall, 14-4, over Kaiya Lopes of Minot State before falling in round two to move to the consolation side of the bracket. She won her first consolation match by technical fall in 1:19, earning a 10-0 victory over Jessica Cottings of Lindenwood.

At 117 pounds, Flavia Nagatani lost her first match of the day by fall. Bouncing back on the consolation side of the bracket, Nagatani secured a win by fall in 30 seconds over Morgan Pinzon of Schreiner University to continue wrestling into day two.

At 124 pounds, Julia Donnelly will wrestle for a chance to advance to nationals after falling in round one by fall in 2:38. She advanced on the consolation side of the bracket after her opponent forfeited.

At 145 pounds, Dakota Hull won her first match of the day by fall in 53 seconds over Emma Coyle of Schreiner University before dropping a 6-2 decision in the second round. On the backside of the bracket, Hull bounced back with a 20-9 technical fall victory in 6:00.

The final Grizzly still competing is Angella Van Valkenburg at 160 pounds. After losing in round one by fall in 1:55, Van Valkenburg responded with a 12-2 technical fall in 2:17 over Maria Arellano of Chadron State College.

The Grizzlies resume wrestling at 10 a.m. tomorrow, hoping to keep their postseason runs alive.
