COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After a complete game this weekend, Adams State junior Brian Walters has earned the first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Pitcher of the Week honor since the Grizzlies brought the baseball program back into the fold.

Walters delivered a complete-game victory, pitching seven innings on the way to his first win in 2024 against Malone University in Tucson, Ariz.

The junior allowed a second-inning home run as the only blemish in his outing and faced just one batter above the minimum of 21 hitters. Walters also surrendered a single in the final frame, before stamping a game-ending double play.

The Grizzlies' right-hander issued no walks and punched out seven Pioneers in ASU's lone win in the Tucson Invitational. Walters is off to a great start this season, limiting hitters to a .169 batting average, the lowest in the RMAC. He currently stands second in the league for strikeouts (26) and owns the RMAC's fourth-best earned-run average at 3.63.

The Grizzlies open RMAC action this week when they host Regis.
