Golf Concludes Season at RMAC Championships

Alamosa, Colo. — The Adams State women's golf team finished up their season as they attended the RMAC Women's Golf Championship in Boulder City, Nevada. The Grizzlies placed 11th with a final, three day, score of 1191.

The Grizzlies shot 399 in their first round on Sunday, 413 on Monday, and 379 on Tuesday. The individual placements for the Grizzlies were 45th place for Keona Weirick, 49th place for Alexis Ortega, 53rd place for Stephanie Framel, 54th place for Anastasia Sanchez, and 55th place for Kailyn Vigil

From the RMAC Office:

"BOULDER CITY, Nev. – Colorado State University Pueblo wrapped up their final round in style, winning their second straight Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship at Boulder Creek Golf Course in Boulder City, Nev. The Pack ballooned their stranglehold of the women's standings, winning the team title by 22 strokes. Regis' Meredith Boos shot the best round of the day, propelling her to the coveted individual crown.

Strong winds once again created havoc for the field Tuesday, but the ThunderWolves did not let it hinder them. CSU Pueblo shot six-over on the round and never relinquished the lead. Freya Constable, who led after 36 holes, finished two shots back of Boos and was joined by teammates Kylie Severin and Lisa Ekberg in medalist honors. Severin also managed a two-under 70 on the course to sit in a tie for third place.

Chadron State's Jordan Grasis and Colorado Mesa's Cassidy Phelan rounded out the medalists, as they tied for fifth after the three-round competition.

Colorado Mesa finished as the runners-up in the 2024 Championships, compiling a team score of 911. They finished one stroke ahead of third place Regis (+48) and 11 strokes clear of fourth place Colorado Christian's 922 team score. The Mavericks held the lead halfway through the second round but could not hold off the Pack's trio of medalists.

Metropolitan State University of Denver checked in at fifth place at 64-over, followed by Chadron State at 74-over and Westminster at 81-over. South Dakota Mines amassed a team total of 963 to follow the Griffins, while Fort Lewis, Black Hills State and Adams State rounded out the standings."

That concludes the 2023-2024 golf season for the Grizzlies.
