High Winds Shorten Final Round as Adams State Finishes RMAC Championships

Boulder City, Nev. – Adams State concluded the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships with a shortened final round of nine holes due to high winds.

The Grizzlies were led by Naomi Smith, who finished 49th overall. The freshman shot 7-over in the final round to close at 33-over for the tournament.

Taylor Butler followed closely behind, carding a 3-over through nine holes on the final day to finish at 34-over overall through her final RMAC Golf Championship.

Keona Weirick posted an 8-over in the shortened round, finishing 52nd with a three-day total of 38-over to finish her career as a Grizzly. 

Isabel Galloway and Kailyn Vigil rounded out the lineup. Galloway shot 13-over in the final round to place 57th at 52-over in her first RMAC Championships appearance. Vigil recorded a 20-over on the day, finishing 58th overall at 67-over.

As a team, the Grizzlies finished 10th overall with a 154-over total and will look to build momentum heading into the summer.
