Bathauer & DelTondo Highlight Conference Awards

Colorado Springs, Colo.. - The RMAC announced their postseason awards Wednesday, and the Grizzlies had representation on two of the major awards and two selected for the Gold Glove team along with 10 Grizzlies representing on the all conference teams. Leading the way was Mike Bathauer who was selected as RMAC Co-player of the year.

Bathauer is the first Adams State baseball player to earn the Player of the Year honor. He shares the award with Sharrar, who represents Colorado Mesa in the top performance award for the fourth year in a row. Bathauer stands among the RMAC's top 10 in every offensive category after leading the Grizzlies to the RMAC Tournament for the first time since 2016. Sharrar claims a share of the award, also ranking among the league's best in every offensive statistic. The Maverick outfielder was crucial in the team's 12th consecutive RMAC regular season crown, leading the league in hits and RBIs. Both student-athletes also earned a first-team all-conference nod, with Bathauer at shortstop and Sharrar as an outfielder.

Bruce DelTondo takes home Coach of the Year Award. DelTondo is in his fourth season at the helm. DelTondo navigated the Grizzlies to a single-season, program-record 24 wins and just the third RMAC Tournament berth in the last century. The Adams State manager has guided his team to the best statistical offense in the league while boasting the first Co-Player of the Year in program history.

Mike Bathauer and Matt Bathauer were both named to First team all conference.

Cesar Loma, Joseph Raker and Seth Reker were all named to Second Team All conference.

Christian Altamirano, Ty Addington, Jack Dere & Ayden Tauscher rounded out the team honors and all received Honorable Mention.

Tied with CCU for the highest number of student-athletes represented on the Gold Glove team, both Ayden Tauscher and Joseph Raker solidified their spot on the team based on their incredible performances this year.
