Colorado Springs, Colo. – The Adams State men's baseball team is projected to finish sixth in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, according to the preseason coaches poll released Wednesday afternoon.

The Grizzlies closed out the 2024 season with a 24-28 overall record and a 19-13 mark in RMAC play before facing Colorado Mesa—ranked No. 1 entering the 2025 season—in the first round of the playoffs.

Colorado Mesa, which went 24-8 in RMAC play last season and secured its 12th consecutive conference title, topped the preseason poll with all eight eligible first-place votes, earning 64 points.

Regis secured the final first-place vote and 56 points after finishing 2024 at 20-12. MSU Denver, which finished the 2024 season tied with Regis, placed third in the preseason poll with 48 points.

Adams State returns two RMAC Preseason Players to Watch in Cesar Loma and Seth Raker. Loma, a graduate student, recorded four wins in 12 starts en route to second-team All-RMAC honors. He tallied 59 strikeouts in 59 innings, both career highs.

Raker, a sophomore, batted .359 in 2024 with 16 doubles, six home runs, 50 runs scored, and 46 RBIs, earning second-team All-RMAC recognition.

The Grizzlies open the 2025 season on the road Feb. 1-2 at Fort Hays State, where they will play back-to-back doubleheaders. Adams State's home opener is set for March 7 against Colorado School of Mines.
