GOLDEN, Colorado – On Saturday afternoon, the Men's and Women's Adams State Swim teams competed in Golden, Colorado. The Men's team faced Colorado School of Mines, while the Women's team competed against both Colorado School of Mines and Colorado State Pueblo. The women finished the event losing overall to Colorado School of Mines by a score of 117-46 and to Colorado State Pueblo by a score of 131-50. The men lost to Colorado School of Mines by a score of 116.5 to 59.5.
Women's Events
1000 Yard Free- Collecting a fourth-place finish for the Grizzlies was Ryley Martinez. Martinez finished with a final time of 11:59.42 to collect her fourth-place finish in the event.
50 Yard Free- In the 50 Yard Free, the Grizzlies were able to collect a fourth-place finish with the performance of Ashlyn Popham. Popham finished with a final time of 25.82 to collect her fourth-place finish.
500 Yard Free- In the 500 Yard Free, Eleanor Schafer was able to collect second place in the event with her consistent performance. Schafer finished with a final time of 5:55.38, giving her a second-place finish. Finishing fourth in the event was fellow Grizzly Kennedy Larson. Larson collected fourth place with a final time of 6:08.79.
200 Yard Free Relay- In the 200 Yard Free Relay the Grizzlies were able to collect a solid second place finish with the Adams State A relay team. The four women a part of the Adams State A team are Ryler Martinez, Eleanor Schafer, Ashlyn Popham, and Jocelyn Jones. Racing alongside this group of Women was the Adams State B relay team composed of Clare Bonham, Annika Schaak, Kennedy Larson, and Brenna Otteman. This group of women collected fourth place with a final time of 1:58.90.
Men's Events
400 Yard Medley Relay- Finishing in third place for the Grizzlies was the Adams State A team composed of Kenny Rupp, Victor Lebsock, Quintin Cummings, and Michael Eckley. The four men finished with a final time of 3:45.18 to collect third place.
200 Yard Free- Collecting a second-place finish for the Grizzlies in the 200 Yard Free was Quintin Cummings. Cummings finished with a final time of 1:23.12 to collect a second-place tie with an individual from Colorado School of Mines.
200 Yard IM- Finishing with a top 3 finish for the Grizzlies in the 200 Yard IM was Ben Brewer, who collected third place. Brewer finished with a final time of 1:36.04 to collect his third-place finish.
200 Yard Backstroke- In the 200 Yard Backstroke, the Grizzlies were able to collect a second place finish in the event with Ollie MacIntosh finishing with a final time of 1:44.51. MacIntosh stayed consistent throughout the 200 yard event that allowed him to finish second.
500 Yard Free- Collecting the top three positions was the Grizzlies in the 500 Yard Free. Finishing in first was Kenny Rupp with a time of 5:05.91, followed by Zane Spears, who finished in second place, and Jess Baker in third place. Spears collected second place with a time of 5:36.94, while Baker finished with a time of 5:43.74 to collect third place.
200 Yard Free Relay- Collecting the top two spots in the 200 Yard Free Relay was the Grizzlies with their A and B relay teams. Competing in the Adams State A team were Quintin Cummings, Jess Baker, Dillon Brown, and Kenny Rupp. These four men were able to collect first place with a final time of 1:29.98. Finishing in second place with a time of 1:36.59 was the Adams State B relay team, which is composed of Victor Lebsock, Zane Spears, Duncan Cumby, and Michael Eckley.

Up next for the Grizzlies Men's and Women's Swim team is their first home meet here in Alamosa, Colorado. The Grizzlies will compete against Colorado College on Saturday, November 1st, starting at 10 AM MST. The event will be a great opportunity to come out and support the Men's and Women's swim teams for the Grizzlies before they head on the road again.
