GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado — After the completion of 31 events in the RMAC Championships, the Grizzlies currently have 81 points on the women's side and 138.50 points on the men's side. During today's events the Grizzlies scored points in 5 events with the men scoring in 3 events and the women scoring in 2 events.
Women's Events
200 Yard Freestyle Relay - In the 200 yard Freestyle Relay, the Grizzlies earned 26 points by earning an 8th place finish. The Grizzlies relay team was composed of Ryley Martinez, Eleanor Schafer, Ashlyn Popham, and Jocelyn Jones. The four women finished with a final time of 1:39.83 to collect their 8th place finish. Also collecting points in the 200 yard Freestyle Relay was the Grizzlies second relay team composed of Kennedy Larson, Lana Rhoads, Clare Bonham, and Brenna Otteman. The Grizzlies second relay team collected a 17th place finish with a final time of 1:48.48 to give the Grizzly women 4 more additional points.
Men's Events
100 Yard Backstroke - In the 100 yard Backstroke final, Devin Walters placed 13th place to collect individual points for the men's team. Walters collected 4 points for the Grizzlies in the individual event with a final time of 51.58 to finish in 13th place. On the day, Walters was the only Grizzly to collect individual points for the Grizzlies on both the men's and women's side making his 100 yard Backstroke performance an outstanding individual performance for himself and the Grizzly team as a whole.
200 Yard Freestyle Relay - The men collect a fifth place in the 200 yard Freestyle Relay to collect 28 points for the Grizzlies men's team. The relay team was composed of Landon Brewer, Devin Walters, Quintin Cummings, and Kenny Rupp. The four men finished with a final time of 1:24.49 to collect their fifth place finish. The Grizzlies second relay team of Ben Brewer, Quenten Madrid, Zane Spears, and Michael Eckley also collected 8 points in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay with a 13th place finish. Between the two relay teams, the eight men collected 36 points in this event for the Grizzlies team.
The Grizzlies will continue to compete tomorrow in the RMAC Championships with Day 5 being the final day of the competition. The Grizzlies will continue to place in a multitude of events throughout the event and continue adding to their overall team scores on both the men's and women's sides.
