GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado — After Day 2 of the 2026 RMAC Swimming and Diving Championships, the Grizzlies sit in ninth place with 49 points on the Women's side, and on the Men's side they sit in sixth place with 58 points. During the two days, the Grizzlies have received points in six of the events they have placed in, with both the women and men receiving points in three races. Along with receiving points in multiple races, the Grizzlies Men have broken two records with the relay team of Quintin Cummings, Dillon Brown, Devin Walters, and Kenny Rupp breaking the school record in the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay with a final time of 6:57.33. On top of this, Devin Walters broke his own school record with the fastest 50 Yard Backstroke time during the 200 Yard Medley Relay with a time of 24.19. 

Women's Events

800 Yard Freestyle Relay - In the Grizzlies first event of the 2026 RMAC Championships they collected 24 points in the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay with a 9th place finish. The Grizzlies relay team composed of Ashlyn Popham, Kennedy Larson, Eleanor Schafer, and Jocelyn Jones finished with a final time of 8:31.04 to collect their 9th place finish. In the race, the Grizzlies collected 24 points towards their team total. 

1000 Yard Freestyle - Collecting the Grizzlies first individual point at the 2026 RMAC Championships was Eleanor Schafer when she finished in 24th place in the 1000 Yard Freestyle race with a final time of 11:35.66. Schafer finished with the Grizzlies top time as fellow Grizzlies Ryley Martinez, Kennedy Larson, and Lana Rhoads finished 26th, 28th, and 33rd respectively in the race. The Grizzlies collected 1 point in this race with Schafer's 24th place finish. 

200 Yard Medley Relay - The final event the Grizzlies collected team points in was the 200 Yard Medley Relay in which they finished in 9th place to collect 24 points moving their team total to 49 points after two days of events. Racing for the Grizzlies was the relay team of Ryley Martinez, Annika Schaak, Jocelyn Jones, and Ashlyn Popham. The four women finished with a final time of 1:57.21 to collect their 9th place finish and move the Grizzlies team total to 49 points going into Day 3 of the RMAC Championships. 

Men's Events

800 Yard Freestyle Relay - During Tuesday night's first event, the Grizzlies relay team of Quintin Cummings, Dillon Brown, Devin Walters, and Kenny Rupp broke a school record with a final time of 6:57.33 in the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay. The record breaking performance for the Grizzlies gave them a 6th place finish and 26 points to their team total to start the RMAC Championships off with an outstanding team race. 

200 Yard Medley Relay - During Day 2 of the RMAC Championships the Grizzlies collected another 32 points to move their team total to 58 after Day 2. The Grizzlies accomplished with 2 relay teams receiving points in the 200 Yard Medley Relay. The first relay team was composed of Devin Walters, Victor Lebsock, Dillon Brown, and Landon Brewer who finished in 6th place with a final time of 1:36.24 to give the Grizzlies 26 points. During the race Devin Walters had an outstanding individual performance setting a personal best and school record for the fastest 50 Yard Backstroke with a split of 24.19 seconds to give the Grizzlies an outstanding start in the Medley Relay. The second relay team for the Grizzlies to collect points was the team composed of Ben Brewer, Zane Spears, Quenten Madrid, and Michael Eckley who finished 14th to collect 6 more points for the Grizzlies. The four men finished with a final time of 1:42.61 to collect their 14th place finish. 

The Grizzlies will continue to compete in the 2026 RMAC Championships as the competition will continue through the 14th. The Grizzlies will have a great opportunity to continue adding to their overall team score on both the Women's and Men's side as they compete over the next three days.
