Pueblo, Colo. – The Adams State golf team kicked off the championship segment of its season this weekend at the CSU Pueblo South Colorado Open.
Taylor Butler led the Grizzlies, finishing tied for 63rd with a 14-over-par 86 on both days. Keona Weirick followed closely behind, placing one spot lower after carding a 13-over-par 85 on Sunday and a 16-over-par 88 on Monday.
Anastasia Sanchez rounded out the Grizzlies' lineup, finished with a 117 on Sunday and a 108 on Monday.
Since Adams State did not compete as a team, no overall team score was recorded. Simon Fraser claimed the team title with a +20 finish, while Francesca Sumcad, an independent player from the University of Colorado, secured the individual title with a 4-under-par performance.
