CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) has officially announced the 2024-25 recipients of the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards. The Academic Achievement Award recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the Division II level who participate in NCAA-sponsored sports. This year, Adams State received recognition for 82 of its student-athletes who held a GPA over 3.5, have attended school for more than two years, and were active members of an intercollegiate team during the school year.
Diving deeper into each sport, baseball led with 17 recipients, followed by women's cross country/track and field and men's cross country/track and field with 10 each, women's soccer with 9, men's wrestling with 7, softball, volleyball, and men's soccer with 6 each, women's basketball and football with 3 each, and women's swimming and lacrosse with 2 each.
Looking at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, overall as a conference, there were 939 student-athletes recognized, with Colorado Mesa leading the way with 280 recognized student-athletes. Adams State ranked seventh in the conference with 82 recognized student-athletes.
Adams State's strong tradition of academic excellence in the athletic department will continue as the 2025-26 school year and seasons begin next week. The University aims to build upon its success in 2024-25 with even greater achievements in the classroom for its student-athletes.
