ResultsPUEBLO, Colo. (November 9, 2014) --Â Â The Adams State University women's swimming and diving team captured their second win over a conference opponent on Saturday by way of a 102-84 meet score against the Colorado State University-Pueblo ThunderWolves.
It marked the first competition between the two schools as CSU-Pueblo's swimming and diving program is in its first season as a varsity program.
Marissa Mantzey led the way with a pair of first place finishes in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25:12 and the 100 yard backstroke in 1:34.75. Mantzey was also a member of the first place 400 yard medley relay team that edged the ThunderWolves by seven seconds for a final time of 4:08.83. Also a part of that relay was
Alexis Divelbiss,
Sophie Martinez, and
Allie Thurman.
Divelbiss was also a two-time individual winner in the 200 yard freestyle and 100 yard freestyle. In the 200 yard, Divelbiss touched the wall in an official time of 2:02.25. Her mark in the 100 yard was 54.42.
Erica Norton claimed the top spot in the 100 yard butterfly by posting a time of 1:01.12. Norton remained busy in the meet with a pair of second-place finishes in the 100 yard backstroke and 400 yard IM.
The Grizzlies return to Plachy Hall Pool for a Nov. 14 meet with Colorado Mesa University. Action is slated for a 4:00 p.m. start.Â
