Adams State Women’s Swimming Shines at Western Colorado

Gunnison, Colo. – The Adams State women's swimming team traveled to Western Colorado for the Senior Recognition Meet on Saturday.

The Grizzlies scored 41 team points, led by Jocelyn Jones' first-place finishes in the 100-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle.

Kennedy Larson and Sammy Buttermore placed fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 1,000-yard freestyle with times of 12:47.13 and 14:05.97.

In the 200-yard freestyle, Jenna Lang earned third place with a time of 2:24.07. Teammates Danielle Aquino and Emily Markle finished fourth and sixth, respectively, in the 200-yard backstroke with times of 1:09.71 and 1:11.86.

Anjalie Friedman earned third place in the 100-yard breaststroke, while Larson and Buttermore finished eighth and ninth, respectively. In the 50-yard freestyle, Ryley Martinez placed sixth, while Lang finished 10th.

In the relays, Adams State finished fourth in the 400-yard medley relay. In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Adams State's teams placed third and fifth.

This was the Grizzlies final competition before heading to the RMAC Championships Feb. 11, hosted by Colorado Mesa.
