WSOC | Grizzlies Travel to Durango for Conference Matchup

ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Adams State Women's Soccer team will be on the road this Sunday as they take on Fort Lewis in conference play. The Grizzlies went 1-1 this past weekend with a 2-3 loss to Regis University and a 5-1 victory against Black Hills State University. The Grizzlies moved to 2-4 overall and 1-1 during conference play.

On Friday, the Grizzlies came up short to Regis losing 2-3. The Grizzlies offense looked good early as Diana Cerillo scored in the 13th minute to put the Grizzlies on the scoreboard. The Rangers struck back by rattling off three straight goals in a seven minute span. Carly Kading cut the Rangers lead to one late in the game, but the Rangers held the Grizzlies off the scoreboard to seal the win.

On Sunday, the Grizzlies dominated Black Hills State, 5-1. Five different Grizzlies scored in the game as they notched their second five-goal game of the season. The Grizzlies also surpassed their 2017 season total in goals.

The Grizzlies have been one of the best scoring teams in the RMAC. They currently are tied for first in goals, points, and assists. The Grizzlies defense has remained disciplined through six games as they have the fewest fouls in the conference.

For the Skyhawks, Renee Terrell and Dylan Barker lead the team in goals with two. Goalkeeper, Britt Blomso has 26 saves and one shutout for the Skyhawks. Opposing teams are only averaging 1.36 goals per game against Blomso.

The Grizzlies and Skyhawks will play at FLC Dirks Field in Durango, Colorado. The game will begin at 2:30 p.m.
