Grizzlies Set to Dive into Triangular Competition

ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Adams State Swim team is ready to make a splash after the long break. The Grizzlies head to Pueblo for the CSU-Pueblo Triangular competition Saturday, Jan. 12. Competing against the Grizzlies this weekend are the CSU-Pueblo Thunderwolves and Nebraska-Kearney Lopers.

CSU-Pueblo is entering competition 1-3, with their lone victory this season from last weekend, Jan. 5 against Arizona Christian. The Grizzlies have seen the Thunderwolves once so far this season at the A3 Performance invite in Grand Junction, Colorado. There the Thunderwolves placed 5th with 339 points, and the Grizzlies placed 6th with 298 points.

The Nebraska-Kearney Lopers are unfamiliar competition for the Grizzlies this season. The Lopers are coming in to the CSU-Pueblo Triangular 4-0 in competition, only facing opponents in Nebraska and Iowa thus far. Adams State faced Nebraska-Kearney head-to-head last season on their Nebraska road trip with Adams State swimming away with the big victory of 125-49.

The Grizzlies are coming out of a three-week break, and are eager to hit the water. Adams State will be on the road for the remainder of the season. The Grizzlies will have a meet each weekend for the rest of January. Adams State then will head to RMAC Championships in Lewisville, Texas, February 13th.

The Adams State Grizzlies will dive in at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at the Sam Jones Aquatic Center.
