ALAMOSA, Colo. – Adams State Women's Swim heads to Pueblo for Quadrangular action. The Grizzlies will have the opportunity to take on CSU-Pueblo, Colorado College, and Western Colorado Saturday, Oct. 19.
The schedule for Adams State is to face off against CSU-Pueblo at 11:30 a.m., Colorado College at 12:30 p.m., and Western Colorado at 1:30 p.m. Last year the Grizzlies attended this meet as a triangular going head to head with CSU-Pueblo and Nebraska Kearney.
CSU-Pueblo and the Grizzlies have battled it out the past few years, with the Thunderwolves on top 3-2. Last year Adams State fell 88-199 at the triangular. The Grizzlies also faced Nebraska-Kearney in Pueblo last year, winning 184-64. Adams State had great runs from
Madison Rincon finishing 2nd in the 1650 Freestyle and 3rd in the 400 IM.
Megan Dudden was also a big player for the Grizzlies, finishing 2nd in the 200 Freestyle.
Adams State's last match up head to head with Colorado College was in 2014, where the Grizzlies came out on top 137-91. The Grizzlies attended the Colorado Classic in Colorado Springs, where they placed 3rd. Adams State is looking to continue with a solid performance as they did last year.
Historically facing off against the Mountaineers of Western Colorado, Adams State is 5-4. Most recently the Grizzlies fell to Western at the Triangular held in Gunnison, Colo. 53-151. Big swimmers for Adams State in this meet were Rincon, getting her first top finish of last season in the 1000 Freestyle,
Emma-Joy Montana finishing 4th in the 100 backstroke, and
Avery Wilson finishing 5 in the 50 Free.
The Grizzlies are looking forward to some good competition for their first set of head-to-head meets of the season.
