ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Adams State Men and Women's Swim team hosted their first home meet of the season, taking on Colorado Mesa. The Grizzly Women fell 53-137, as did the men, 29-144.
The meet opened with the 200 Medley Relay. The Grizzlies team of
Emily Walgast, Natasha Murphy,
Megan Dudden, and
Claudia Garcia finished in third in 1:57.75. The Grizzlies B team of
Leila Atumah,
Kayle Mashore,
Pilar Aguirre, and
Katy Heldstab finished in fourth in 2:02.31. The Men then dove in to the 200 Medley relay.
Some top swimmers for the Grizzlies were
Madison Rincon,
Megan Dudden, and
Claudia Garcia.
Madison Rincon finished third in the 1000 Free in 11:44.50. Dudden placed third in 2:20.37 in the 200 IM. In the 100 Free Garcia finished in fourth.
Top swimmers on the Men's side for the Grizzlies were
Justin Sandoval, competing in the 500 Free, finishing in 5:25.75. Another Swimmer for the Adams State was
Gilbert Benton, competing in the 100 Breaststroke in 1:03.56.
The Grizzlies will hit the deck again in tomorrow, Saturday Oct. 26 at 12 p.m. Adams State will take on Colorado School of Mines.
