KEARNEY, Neb.. – The Adams State Grizzlies traveled to Kearney, Nebraska to swim in UNK's Fall Fest.
The Adams State Grizzlies had an overall great showing this past weekend. Overall, they came in third place with three silver medals and two bronze. They placed higher than Midland College and College of Saint Mary. Nebraska-Kearney came in first place with four gold medals, four silvers, and three bronze. Then, CSU Pueblo came in second place with four gold and silver medals, and two bronze medals.
Individually the Grizzlies did extremely well. Peyton Schwartz had a record time in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.88. Anjali Friedman scored 502 points in her 200-yard IM with a time of 2:19.23. Hope Christensen had a good time in her 100-yard freestyle with a time of 57.77.
The men's team also swam at this event, but were the only men's team to do so. Therefore, they were just racing to get their own personal best time. In the men's 200 yard relay, the two Grizzlies team's final times were 1:46.26 and 1:49.93. Indiana Sterving and
Coleton Haight did well in the Men 1000 yard free. Sterving got a time of 10:57.88 and Haight got 12:07.23. In the Men 50 yard free,
George Lutkenhaus got 23.58,
Eddie Duran got 24.19, Kaden Scott got 24.28,
Joshua Jones got 24.30,
Jacob Miller got 25.18, and
Calvin Ssendawula got 28.60.
Up next, the Grizzlies will travel to Gunnison, Colorado to swim at Western Colorado on November 13th. The men's team will not be at this meet but will swim on Saturday, December 11th, at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
