GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Adams State Grizzlies Men's and Women's Swim teams were at Colorado Mesa University to compete in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships on Wednesday morning for Day One of the four-day meet.
The action started with prelims. On the women's side, Anjali Friedman placed in 22nd place in the 200 Yard IM with a final time of 2:20.23.
Ryan Bustos came in with a time of 2:22.96 which earned her 28th place. Hope Christensen had a final time of 25.01 in the 50 Yard Freestyle which earned her 19th place.
Hannah Zimmer came in 36th place with a time of 26.70 and Kaycey Stephen came in with a time of 26.86 and earned 37th place.
For the men,
Eddie Duran placed in 20th place in the 200 Yard IM with a final time of 2:09.56. In the 50 Yard Freestyle,
Joshua Jones came in 23rd place with a time of 23.34, Kaden Scott trailed behind him with a time of 23.53,
George Lutkenhaus Jr. came in 25th with a time of 23.57,
Gilbert Benton came in 26th with a time of 24.13, Connor Mathews was behind him with a time of 24.61, and
Calvin Ssendawula came in 28th place with a final time of 26.49. Lastly, in the 1000 Yard Freestyle, Indiana Sterving came in sixth place with a final time of 10:52.93 and
Coleton Haight finished right after with a time of 12:12.13, which placed him in seventh place.
The Grizzlies did not advance anyone to tonight's finals, but will have relays competing in the 200-Yard Medley Relay. This story will be updated with those results.
