COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Freshman Tucker Meeks took home first place in the 200 freestyle and second place in the 100 freestyle to lead the Adams State men's swim team to a third-place finish and 298 points as the Colorado College Classic came to a close this morning.
 
The women's team, meanwhile, placed sixth of six teams competing with 121 points, just three points off the fifth-place squad.
 
Meeks was anything but as he touched the wall in the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:46.47, besting the second-place finisher by over three seconds.  This came after Meeks' runner-up finish in the 100 freestyle, touching the wall in 48.75.
 
Derek Cooley also posted a 2^nd-place finish in his 200 butterfly in a time of 2:08.49, joining Brayden Pearce's 2^nd-place finish in the 100 backstroke (54.05) and Gilbert Benton's 2^nd-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.29).
 
Anjali Friedman (1:11.61 in the 100 breaststroke) and Peyton Schwartz (1:01.86 in the 100 backstroke) came in 4^th in the respective events to lead the women's team individually.
