ALAMOSA, Colo. – History will be made inside Plachy Hall on Thursday night as the Adams State University Women's wrestling team will be hosting the first ever home event as they will host
The event will feature the Grizzlies, the Colorado Mesa University Mavericks and the Texas Women University Pioneers in a triangular. The duals will be the first official duals for the Kyle Sand-coached Grizzlies.

The first dual is set to commence at 6:00 p.m. and will feature the Pioneers and Mavericks in a non-conference dual, before the Mavericks and Grizzlies meet up in a non-conference match immediately after. After that, the Grizzlies and Pioneers will match up in the official Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) match on the schedule. Texas Women's and Colorado Mesa joined the Grizzlies and and other schools to make the sport a conference-sanctioned sport.

Earlier this season some of all three teams went head to head against wrestlers from these each school at the Maverick Open in Grand Junction, Colo.

Adams State has competed in the Bob Smith Open last week where they had four placers including a second-place finish by Bella Devoto.


Meanwhile, the Mavericks, a national-powerhouse, had a total of 12 wrestlers finish in the top six of their respective weight classes and four of those claimed championships.

The Pioneers are coming off a win and a loss against Chadron State (23-23 tie; won tiebreaker) and Schreiner (21-20) this past weekend.

The Grizzlies will continue to be busy after this week as they head to Chadron State to take on the Eagles and Minot State on Sunday, Dec. 10 before they head to the Desert Duals in Las Vegas, Nev.
