RAPID CITY, S.D. – Adams State finished 10th after two days of golf at the Hardrocker Fall Invite in Rapid City, South Dakota.
The team posted a score of 797 over 36 holes, finishing 221-over par. The Grizzlies shot 390 on day one and 407 on day two.
"I'm incredibly proud of the girls for how they battled on such a challenging course," said head coach Jon Atencio. "This tournament was a mental breakthrough for Keona. She made a few simple mistakes but was right there with a chance to win after the first day. It also highlighted areas we need to improve as we prepare for our next event in Pueblo."
Keona Weirick led the Grizzlies, tying for 15th with a score of 167, finishing 23-over par. She shot an 82 (10-over) on day one and followed with an 85 (13-over) on day two.
Junior transfer Taylor Butler tied for 51st, posting scores of 97 (25-over) and 96 (24-over) for a total of 193. Alexis Ortega finished 54th with a combined score of 194 (50-over), shooting 96 (24-over) on day one and 98 (26-over) on day two.
Anastasia Sanchez placed 57th, recording a total of 258 (114-over), with scores of 130 (58-over) and 128 (56-over).
Kailyn Vigil withdrew after the first day and did not record an overall tournament score.
