Adams State Women's Wrestling Selected to Finish Fifth in Preseason RMAC Coaches' Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado — In the 2025-26 RMAC Women's Wrestling Preseason Coaches' Poll, the Adams State Grizzlies are selected to finish in fifth place. The Grizzlies will look to have a bounce-back year in the RMAC season, earning them a higher overall finish as they hope the leadership of Senior, Preseason All-RMAC selection Corrie Williams, can help them achieve more team success.

Looking closer at the Grizzlies, they will look to build upon the 2024-25 season, where they went 1-2-1 in RMAC play and took fourth place with two champions at the RMAC championships last year. With one of their two champions returning in Corrie Williams, the Grizzlies will again look to have multiple RMAC champions while also having a well-rounded tournament, which will give them a better opportunity to place higher overall at the tournament.

Looking at the rest of the conference, Simon Fraser was selected to win the conference after they finished the 2024-25 season with a perfect 4-0 conference record and their second straight RMAC regular season title. In the preseason poll, Simon Fraser finished with 15 points, which included 3 first-place votes and 1 second-place vote. Following Simon Fraser were Colorado Mesa and Chadron State, rounding out the top three. Colorado Mesa received 2 first-place votes and 2 second-place votes to secure them 14 overall points. Chadron State, who was selected to finish third, received 1 second-place vote and 3 third-place votes to collect 9 points. Rounding out the conference were Texas Woman's and the Grizzlies. Texas Woman's received 1 second-place vote and 1 third-place vote to secure 7 points, whereas the Grizzlies collected 1 third-place vote, giving them a final total of 5 points.

Looking forward, the Grizzlies open up their season Sunday, November 2nd, in Grand Junction, Colorado, at the Maverick Open. This will be one of two road meets that will begin the Grizzlies' season before they come home on December 1st for their first home meet of the season against Simon Fraser University.

Following the Grizzlies' regular season, they will not only look to have a great RMAC tournament showing but also to finish their season at the first-ever NCAA Division II Women's Wrestling Championships, which will be held in Coralville, Iowa. The Championships are set for March 7-8, with the official tournament details coming out at a later date.
