Alamosa, Colo. –– Adams State opened its 2025–26 dual season on Friday by hosting Simon Fraser University and Fort Hays State in a tri-dual. The Grizzlies dropped both matchups but stayed competitive throughout the afternoon.
Against SFU, the Grizzlies jumped out to a 10–0 lead with a pair of forfeits before getting on the board again at 117 pounds, where Flavia Nagatani earned a fall in 1:30. Adams State ultimately fell 30–16, picking up one more team point from Julia Donnelly, who battled to an 8–4 decision against Laura Alcantor Soto.
In the second dual, Adams State again started fast, taking an early lead over Fort Hays State behind an 11–6 decision win from Mia Siqueiros. Katelyn Faczak added a point in a 12–2 tech fall loss before McKenne Hendrickson closed the day with a late pin over Samar Markwardt in 3:52, bringing the final score to 40–9 in favor of FHSU.
The Grizzlies travel to Hays, Kansas, this weekend for the FHSU Tiger Open.
