Naperville, Ill. – The Adams State Grizzlies placed two wrestlers at the North Central College Invitational, highlighted by a dominant first-place finish from Dakota Hull.
Competing at 145 pounds, Hull put together an impressive run, winning every match by fall or technical fall. She opened the tournament with a fall in 2:45, then followed with a 14-2 technical fall in 3:17. In the semifinals, Hull secured her second pin of the day, defeating Zariah Rodriguez of Tarleton State in 1:50. She capped off her championship run with a decisive 13-2 technical fall over Colorado Mesa's Delarie Juarez in the finals, ending the match in just 1:43.
Hallie Carter also placed for the Grizzlies, earning fifth place at 131 pounds. Carter began the day with a quick fall in 0:59 before dropping her second match by technical fall. She rebounded with two consecutive pins to remain in contention, fell in the next round, and then sealed her fifth-place finish with a fall in just 0:20.
The Grizzlies will now break for the holidays before returning to action in January.
