SHERIDAN, Wyoming — After Day 1 of the Travis Roy Memorial Invitational, the Adams State Women's Golf team is currently in last place with an overall score of 355, which puts them at +67 going into Day 2 of the Invitational. 

The Travis Roy Memorial Invitational is the first tournament the Grizzlies have attended in the 2025-26 season, competing against 11 other schools, including Colorado State Pueblo, Colorado Mesa, Westminster, Chadron State, South Dakota Mines, and Black Hills State, who are all fellow RMAC schools. Among the 12 schools competing, there are 60 golfers, with each team having its score from the 4 best golfers on each day of competition. 

On Day 1 of the Invitational, the Grizzlies were led by Keona Weirick, who shot +11 for a gross score of 83. Weirick shot a 42 on the front 9 and a 41 on the back 9. Following Weirick was Taylor Butler, who shot +12 for a gross score of 84; Naomi Smith, who shot +17 for a gross score of 89; and Isabel Galloway, who shot +27 for a gross score of 99, giving the Grizzlies their overall score of +67 and a gross score of 355. 

The Grizzlies will look to build on their first day of competition by going out to have a great second day of competition in the hopes of moving up the leaderboards. Just in front of them are South Dakota Mines and Black Hills State, two fellow RMAC foes. If the Grizzlies have a great second day, they have the opportunity to pass these fellow RMAC teams in hopes of finishing in the top 10 for the event.
