Chadron, Neb. — Adams State opened the 2026 season Saturday at the CSC WWR Duals, competing in individual duals against Texas Woman's University and host Chadron State. The Grizzlies dropped both duals, falling 28-20 to TWU and 30-16 to Chadron State.

Adams State jumped out to a strong start in its opening dual against Texas Woman's. The Grizzlies scored points in the first three weights, earning two forfeits at 100 and 117 pounds. At 110 pounds, Katelyn Faczak added five points with a fall over Sloan Stewart in 3:46. Madelyn Quintana also contributed points with a fall at 138 pounds, pinning Kira Phillipa in 4:28. Adams State forfeited one weight at 207 pounds.

In the dual against Chadron State, the Grizzlies faced an early deficit after dropping the first two weights. Flavia Nagatani got Adams State on the board at 117 pounds with a 12-2 technical fall over Adrianna Lopez in 5:07. Dakota Hull followed with a fall at 145 pounds, pinning Desza Munson in 1:52, while Briseis St. John added another fall at 180 pounds in 2:52. Julia Donnelly (124 pounds) and Quintana (138 pounds) each scored one point for the Grizzlies in losses by decision and technical fall, respectively.

The Grizzlies will stay in Chadron, Neb. and compete in the Eagle Women's Open starting at 9 a.m.
