Alamosa, Colo. – Adams State crowned three First Team All-Americans and one Second Team All-American on the final day of the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Kidus Begashaw led the Grizzly men with a fourth-place finish in the 5,000 meters. Begashaw earned First Team All-America honors after crossing the line in 14:08.93. Julian Campos also secured a podium finish and First Team All-America recognition, placing eighth in 14:13.42.
Nathan Scherbarth earned Second Team All-America honors with a 12th-place finish in 14:19.64. Juan Rosales finished 14th in 14:20.37, while Thibault Tauziede crossed the line in 16th place in 14:25.46 during his first NCAA Championships appearance.
On the women's side, Tristian Spence took control of the race early but was unable to hold off Colorado School of Mines' Grace Strongberg. Spence earned bronze in the 5,000 meters, finishing third in 16:24.22.
Maggie McCleskey placed 14th with a season-best time of 16:42.66. The meet marked the final competition of McCleskey's Grizzly career.
Adams State concluded the NCAA Outdoor Championships with 17 points on the men's side and 10 points on the women's side. Featuring a young roster, the Grizzlies will look to build on this season's momentum heading into next year.
